Communication Federal Credit Union, originally Pioneer Bell Credit Union, was founded by employees of Southwestern Bell Telephone in downtown Oklahoma City. A federal charter for the Pioneer Bell Credit Union was granted in 1939. Since that time, CFCU has grown to serve many outstanding business partners including OG&E, ONEOK, ONE Gas, AEP/PSO, Chaparral Energy, AT&T, Goodyear Tire and more than 250 other groups. The name was changed to Communication Federal Credit Union in 1982 to reflect this growing field of membership. Communication Federal is a full-service credit union with over 250 employees and 22 branches in Oklahoma and Kansas, serving more than 120,000 members.
